How it all begun ...

You can find the kennel of golden retrievers called „ od Hradu Veveri“ (of the Veveri Castle ) in the village of Veverská Bítýska near Brno, not far from the Veveri castle. Officially it was established in spring of 1999, though the very beginning dates back to 1996, when we (what a good luck it was)  bought our first „goldie“ – the bitch Sandy (Cora Scandinavia Finland), whose mother had been brought to here from Finland. Sandy´s natural cleverness together with her very friendly nature – so typical for retrievers – made her a member of the family soon and in fact it was her, who laid the foundation stone of our station.

In summer of 1999 our family grew with a new member – bitch Aimee, our most beloved puppy of the first litter, whose father, ICH. Karvin Basic Instinct of Gáláns has been awarded a number of European titles. This extraordinary successful connection brought also Alex od Hradu Veveri, at the present stage the most successful golden retriever in all exhibitions of the Czech republic. He, together with his sister Aimee, represents our kennel both in the Czech republic and abroad, which can be clearly demonstrated by the fact that they both had completed all conditions necessary to get the prestigious title Interchampion at the age of just 3 years.

The youngest member of our “pack“ is the very perspective – and very bouncy – bitch Beauty (Beauty Queen Scandinavia Finland) from the very breeder of Sandy. Her father ICH. Lorinford Harlequin, imported from England, boasts with titles of World Winner 2000, European Winner 2000 and the best golden retriever of Finland in 1999. Nevertheless, just the future will show if our choice was correct.

All family is involved in breeding of our puppies who then grow up in the home-like environment so important for their right adaptation to the new owners. Of course, the adaptation does not mean the end of our interest. We organize re-unions, both for pleasure and training, of our still expanding „family“  with a positive feedback namely from the side of the beginning owners.

The target and mission of our kennel is to contribute at least a little to the overall quality and healthiness of this, globally very popular, breed. We are trying to get experience and information on both managed breeding and genetics from the domestic and foreign breeders, and we also keep in mind the promotion and development of the hunting endowment of retrievers.
